Do you want to learn Spanish in a unique and beautiful environment? Our Amazon Spanish Courses gives you the perfect opportunity to do so! The Amazon Jungle program is one of the most interesting Spanish learning programs offered by the Instituto Superior de Español. Our Amazon Spanish Courses gives you the opportunity to take Spanish classes and learn about the Amazon Rainforest in this biologically diverse area. We offer two possible Amazon experiences for our students: The Tourist Amazon Spanish Course is located at an eco friendly lodge close to Coca, Orellana in the Napo area. Shuar Community Amazon Spanish Course is in the Shuar community, province of Pastaza.

Tourist Amazon Program

The Instituto Superior de Español (ISE) gives students joining the Tourist Amazon Spanish Course an excellent opportunity to study and speak Spanish in a wild and exotic environment with the comfort of the high standards of our eco lodge.

The eco lodge is located in an area of the rainforest with a great diversity of animals, birds, reptiles, and insects. This biologically rich area contains more wildlife and micro-habitats than anywhere else in the Amazon province of Napo. In addition to this, our eco lodge is a member of the Yuturi Conservation Group, rainforest saving program.

ISE Amazon Program Excursion

All 27 huts are made out of natural materials, typical of the area, and are equipped with private bathrooms. Each bathroom has a sink, shower, toilet, toilet paper, soap and towel, as well as 24 hour hot water. Cabins are equipped with mosquito nets, closet, and a hammock.

The school, located at the eco lodge, is close to Coca near the Naporiver. Students travel by bus from Quito to Puerto Francisco de Orellana (Coca) and then to the lodge by motorized canoe. Alternatively, an airport-pick-up can be organized to Coca for an additional cost. To ease the students, teachers will travel with the students from Quito.

Shuar Community Amazon Program

The Shuar Community Amazon Spanish Course is also located the rainforest, but organized in a different way. Students will live with local families of the Shuar community, totally immersed in the culture. Accommodation is either single or double rooms, depending on preference and number of group members. The rooms are simple, with electricity, and have access to a toilet, shower, and hammock. Drinking water is also available. For further information about the accommodation please click here.

ISE Shuar Community Program - Learn Spanish in the AmazonTo get to the Shuar Community, students will take a bus to Puyo and from Puyo to the Shuar Community. Teachers will also accomany the students during travel.

The Shuar Community Amazon Spanish Course includes jungle trips and excursions, making it an unforgettable cultural experience.

This extraordinary week in the Amazon will contain countless opportunities to explore the area and experience the rich indigenous culture of the Shuar people. Spanish classes take place in the morning and afternoons are available for adventurous activities, and of course practicing your Spanish.
